How do you converte a 1.8 skin to a 1.7 skin? (without any software.)

I made a skin for the skindex on here- but the skindex only supports 1.7 skins. ;_; So i need help converting my 1.8 skin on here, to a 1.7 skin. BTW, there used to be a 1.7 converter button after you saved your skin, but now its gone. >:(
