Hello, in 1.12.2 the skin url not worked with the mod custom npc, it’s a new bug

im having the same issue all my npcs are steves and i cant access my skins

Same here. Npcs are all Steve. Help.
there is a way to fix it, you need to go to the share tab and right-click on the photo above the URL and click to copy the image address, and when you enter this address to minecraft and the skin will work.(The URL doesn’t work because it links to Bedrock version of skin so it doesn’t work in Java) or something like that. I believe this will help you

I tried what you propose blazerawen but it’s still not working… Someone found a solution ?
You could try downloading the skin texture and sending it to yourself on discord, then if you open the image address from the image you can paste that URL into the game.
it isn’t a great solution since it takes up storage but it worked for me
